During the sixth round of the season 2026, held at the circuit of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Sean Dylan Kelly and the team OrangeCat Racing got a new victory and a second place which strengthened their position as the leaders of the championship Quad-Lock Superbike.
With only three weekends of competition ahead, BMW Motorrad Motorsport continued to build on a breakout season. The combination between the experience of the team OrangeCat Racing, the talent of Sean Dylan Kelly and the performance of the BMW M 1000 RR allowed to extend the advantage in the championship, while Jayson Uribe also added important points that bring you to the first places in the general classification.
The weekend also marked the return of Kaleb De Keyrel aboard a BMW M 1000 RR, leaving an excellent impression within the Superbike Cup with two solid second places.
The BMW M 1000 RR started strong from training
From the first free sessions it was clear that BMW came at Mid-Ohio with a very competitive package. Sean Dylan Kelly showed a consistent pace throughout Friday, while Jayson Uribe managed to be placed among the fastest riders from the start of the weekend.
Uribe finished third in the first free practice and subsequently got an outstanding rating that allowed him to secure a place in the second row for both races. Meanwhile, Jayson Uribe finished in the ninth position after a career consistent that allowed him to score important points for the championship.
A rugged Race 2 ended with another podium finish for BMW
The second race of the weekend was marked by numerous incidents that forced the officials of the race to stop the competition on two occasions by red flag.
Before the first interruption, Sean Dylan Kelly had returned to demonstrate a competitive pace to lead much of the race. However, when the test was stopped because of a new accident and to have completed the minimum number of laps set by the regulation, Kelly was in the second position.
