
The tenth edition of the GS Trophy took 30 riders from 13 countries to cope with a route marked out by forest trails, mountain roads, riverbeds, and historical tours of great altitude. More than a test of speed, the event went back to test the accuracy, endurance, navigation and, especially, the ability of each team to work together.
Germany and Europe are imposed on the final classification
The definition of the GS Trophy 2026 Romania came during the last day. In the women's competition, the margin was very small: before the last day, just two points separated the International Team of Team Europe.
In the male category, the Team Germany came to the final day with a lead of eleven points on the Equipment Europe. Under pressure, both teams had to complete the last stretch while holding the concentration and avoiding mistakes that could modify the classification.
Finally, the Team Germany, formed by Fabian Fenner, Norman Pleissner and Florian Thomann, ended in the first position male with 203 points. The Team Europe, built by Chrissie Harcourt and Anja Filak, got the victory feminine with 200 points.

A victory built with work in team
One of the most representative elements of this edition was the story behind the triumph of Team Europe in the women's competition. Chrissie Harcourt, of Great Britain, and Anja Filak, of the Netherlands, it was not known before the start of the event.
For six days, both of which had to quickly develop a dynamic team, to overcome the different challenges. The coordination between the two proved decisive to stay competitive and reach to the final day with a chance of victory.
'I find it hard to describe this feeling. My head's in a mess; everything in me trembles a little. It will take me a time to assimilate it all. I'm incredibly proud of the two,” said Chrissie Harcourt after get the win.
For its part, Anja Filak highlighted the trust that developed during the competition and the support he received from his partner. The netherlands explained that the two managed to roll as a single unit, taking advantage of the advice and experience of each one to confront the obstacles of the trail.
The result reflects one of the fundamental principles of the GS Trophy: the individual performance is important, but the ability to move forward together can be decisive.

Six days in the most demanding terrain of the Carpathian mountains
The GS Trophy 2026 Romania also noted for the size and difficulty of your journey. The tenth edition reached approximately 1,500 kilometers, of which about half is made out of asphalt.
During three consecutive days, the participants remained on motorcycles between 11 and 12 hours. One of the days most demanding exceeded 300 kilometers, including around 170 miles of hiking trails.
The weather added another level of difficulty. Low temperatures, dense fog and camps wet accompanied the teams during part of the adventure, making the recovery and preparation staff were as important as the skills of driving.
In areas of higher altitude appeared some of the challenges the more technical of the event. The Metzeler Enduro Navigation Challenge led to the participants by eight kilometres of narrow trails, while the climbs of the mountain road Strategica demanded precision and control.
To this is added decreases along the narrow mountain trails, river beds, gravel, deep and fine, surfaces, wet grass and forest roads eroded. The combination of navigation, distance, technical difficulty, and fatigue became the tour Romanian in a test especially demanding.
The BMW R 12 G/S, the protagonist of the adventure
In this scenario, the BMW R 12 G/S accompanied the participants during the different challenges of the GS Trophy. The motorcycle had to face surfaces are very different, from forest trails to mountain sections and grounds with gravel, water, and steep slopes.
The tour allowed us to test their capabilities in a wide range of operating conditions, within a competition in which the precision and control were key to move forward.
The tenth edition of the GS Trophy remained so the concept of adventure that characterized the event, but took their demands to a new level thanks to the combination of distance, navigation, and terrain.

Romania closes an edition marked by the adventure
Under the slogan “Back to basics”, the 30 participants from 13 countries they toured some of the best landscapes that are representative of the Carpathian mountains Romanian, combining the requirement of the competition with the coexistence of motorcyclists from different parts of the world.
Beyond the results, the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2026 Romania returned to put in the foreground values such as camaraderie, resilience and peer support. The adventure ended with Germany as the winner of the competition male and Europe as the winner of the female category, after six days on which each kilometer demanded concentration and team work.
With this tenth edition, the GS Trophy closes his trip to Romania, leaving an experience marked by the driving of adventure, the technical challenges and the international spirit that has made this event in one of the encounters that are more representative of the community GS.
