BMW M GmbH Achieves a 14th Consecutive Record-Breaking Year

BMW M GmbH continues to strengthen its leadership in the high-performance car segment, once again achieving record sales figures in 2025. For the fourteenth consecutive year, BMW’s specialized division posted historic results, reinforcing its position against direct competitors and setting a milestone in the global automotive market.

Global Growth in High-Performance Vehicle Sales

In 2025, BMW M GmbH delivered a total of 213,457 vehicles, representing an approximate 3% increase compared to the previous year. This figure not only underscores the brand’s strong commercial performance but also highlights the robust demand for high-performance models in key markets around the world.

Additionally, for the seventh consecutive year, BMW M GmbH vehicles have significantly outperformed their direct competitors in the sports and high-performance car segment.

Key Models Driving Commercial Success

Among the standout vehicles in 2025, the BMW X3 M50 established itself as the best-selling model in the M lineup, thanks to its blend of power, versatility, and distinctive design.

Similarly, the BMW M5 Sedan and BMW M5 Touring played a key role in driving growth, particularly with the integration of M HYBRID technology, delivering 535 kW / 727 hp and up to 1,000 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the BMW M2 Coupé stood out as the best-selling high-performance model of the year, even offering manual transmission versions in select markets.

The M3 Family: A Favorite Among Performance Enthusiasts

The BMW M3 family continued to play a prominent role in global sales, offering various versions to suit different power and driving preferences. The launch of the BMW M3 CS Touring—the sportiest model in the lineup, with up to 551 hp—further strengthened its popularity among high-performance driving enthusiasts.

Overall, the M3 family made a significant contribution to the total sales volume of the high-performance vehicle portfolio.

Strategic Portfolio Diversification and Technological Advancements

BMW M GmbH attributes its success to a diversified product strategy that combines electric, plug-in hybrid, and traditional internal combustion powertrains. This multi-technology approach has made it possible to offer high-performance options across virtually every market segment.

Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH, emphasized that “this 14th consecutive sales record validates our strategy,” highlighting the company’s commitment to technological innovation across its entire vehicle lineup.

Motorsport Remains a Core Pillar

In addition to its commercial success, BMW M GmbH strengthened its legacy in international motorsport in 2025. BMW M Motorsport models—including the BMW M Hybrid V8, BMW M4 GT3 EVO, and BMW M4 GT4 EVO—secured over 180 victories throughout the year, delivering outstanding performance both in factory tests and customer competitions.

This focus on motorsport continues to position BMW M GmbH not only as a benchmark for on-road performance but also as a dominant force in the world of racing.
