The BMW M3 Touring 24H manages to historical results in the “Green Hell”

BMW M Motorsport starred in one of the highlights of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring 2026 with the spectacular performance of the new BMW M3 Touring 24H. The model, who was born originally as a joke for April Fool's in 2025, ended up becoming a real surprise a competitive finish in fifth place overall and win the victory in the category SPX.

With a record number of 352,000 viewers at the Nürburgring, the so-called “Green Hell” was the scene of one of the most unexpected and celebrated the end of the week.

The BMW M3 Touring 24H went from concept viral competitive car

What began as a proposal humorous BMW M Motorsport ended up evolving quickly in a real project because of the enthusiasm of the fans. In just eight months, the engineers of BMW developed the BMW M3 Touring 24H using as a basis the model of the street and the multiple components derived from the BMW M4 GT3 EVO.

The goal was not only to create a vehicle display, but a car capable of competing at the highest level in endurance GT. The result exceeded all expectations even within the German team.

Schubert Motorsport starred in a perfect race

The team Schubert Motorsport, along with the drivers Jens Klingmann, Connor De Phillippi, Ugo de Wilde and Neil Verhagen, executed a strategy impeccable during all the competition.

The BMW M3 Touring 24H managed to stay consistently within the group of tip and even came to fight momentarily for podium positions all, something that seemed unthinkable before the race.

Finally, the fifth place overall was celebrated as a remarkable result for a project entirely new within one of the powers of resistance most demanding in the world.

ROWE Racing was close to the podium with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO

The team ROWE Racing also had a solid acting with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO #99 piloted by Dan Harper, Max Hesse, Sheldon van der Linde and Dries Vanthoor.

Despite suffering a spinning top in the first few laps, the team was able to back up to finish in fourth position overall, being very close to the podium all. In addition, this result represented the second place within the classification of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC).

On the other hand, the BMW M4 GT3 EVO #1 of the defending champions left the competition due to a technical fault in the fuel system during the night of Saturday.

BMW M Motorsport won eight victories class

In addition to the success of the BMW M3 Touring 24H, BMW M Motorsport achieved a total of eight victories during the 24 Hours of Nürburgring 2026.

Among the most outstanding results were outstanding:

• Victory of the BMW M3 Touring 24H in SPX.
• Triumph of the BMW M4 GT4 EVO in SP10.
• Victory of the BMW M2 Racing in the class BMW.
• Success of the BMW M240i Racing in the category BMW M240i.
• Victories additional models BMW 330i, BMW 325i, BMW 325CI, and BMW 318ti in different divisions.

These results consolidate back to BMW as one of the brands more competitive within the drag racing international.

The mexican Juan Carlos Carmona completed the 24 Hours of Nürburgring

One of the highlights for Latin america was the participation of the mexican pilot Juan Carlos Carmona with the team W. I. S Racing Team powered by Koopman Racing.

Competing aboard the BMW E89 Z4 EVO #40, Carmona and his companions were able to complete the demanding test ending at position 99 overall, besides obtaining the second place in the category 9 AM and a top twenty position within SP9.

BMW M Motorsport strengthens their legacy on-resistance

The performance of the BMW M3 Touring 24H and the many triumphs at the Nürburgring reinforce the commitment of BMW M Motorsport with the innovation, the motor resistance and the development of high-performance vehicles.
