BMW prepares Monterey Car Week 2026 with the future of BMW M and ALPINA

BMW become Monterey Car Week 2026 in one of the main shop to show where it is heading the brand in the field of high-performance, luxury and design. From 13 to 16 August, the German firm meet in California some of her most important projects, with the release in north America of two concept vehicles that represent different visions, but complementary, to the future: the all-electric BMW M Concept Neue Klasse and the Vision BMW ALPINA.

These new releases will join a celebration is especially significant for BMW M: 40 years of the BMW M3, one of the most important in the history of the division of sport. The signature will lead to Monterey copies historic street and competition, recovering part of the path that turned the M3 into a reference inside and outside of the circuits.

The program will also have a component related to the culture and design. BMW will build the Monterey Car Week to present the next chapter of their collaboration with Kith, the signature of fashion and lifestyle founded by Ronnie Fieg. The meeting will meet new cars, custom, and anticipate the collection Kith for BMW 2026.

With this combination of news, history and design, BMW raises a presence that goes far beyond the automobile exhibit. Monterey will be the scenario to connect the heritage of the brand with a new generation of electric products, sport and luxury.

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse: a new vision of high-performance

One of the great protagonists of the BMW Monterey Car Week 2026 will be the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse. After its world premiere during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the prototype will arrive for the first time to the united States to show how it might evolve in the philosophy of BMW M in the electric age.

The concept represents an approximation completely new to the high performance. Instead of simply adapting the technology electrical existing to a sports car, BMW M raises an architecture developed specifically to take advantage of the possibilities of the electric propulsion.

One of the central elements is the use of four electric motors, one attached to each wheel. This configuration allows a level of control over the delivery of power and the dynamics of the vehicle which could hardly be achieved by an architecture conventional.

The management of all these elements will be supported by a specific version for BMW M of the so-called Heart of Joy, the control system of the Neue Klasse that it integrates different functions, vehicle dynamics. In this application, the technology seeks to provide much finer control over the traction and the behavior of the car.

Beyond the figures of power, the goal is to retain one of the features that have been defined historically BMW M: the connection between the driver and the car. The electrification does not arise here only as a way to get more performance, but as an opportunity to develop new ways of controlling the movement of the vehicle.

The design also anticipates a new stage for the BMW M. The BMW M Concept Neue Klasse combines clean surfaces with a presence clearly sports, leaving behind some visual elements that are traditional to build an identity that you can move on to the next generation of performance models.

After its premiere in north America, the prototype will have new appearances during Monterey Car Week, including the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Vision BMW ALPINA takes the luxury, high-performance into the future

The second major new BMW will be the Vision BMW ALPINA, which will make its debut in north America during The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering.

While the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse represents the future of the electrical performance, the Vision BMW ALPINA explore another dimension of the brand: the luxury, comfort, and sophistication associated with ALPINE.

The study design retains some of the traits that have been characterized historically to the cars of the signature, but interpreted from a contemporary perspective. A silhouette of inspiration coupé, a sharp nose shark and decorative lines discrete contribute to create a look of elegance without resorting to elements too flashy.

That philosophy also carries over to the interior. The cabin bet by high quality materials and craftsmanship that includes skin of full-grain, metallic surfaces carefully worked and controls of glass.

The proposal is particularly interesting because ALPINE has built a good part of their identity around a difficult combination to achieve: high performance without sacrificing comfort or refinement. The Vision BMW ALPINA seeks to apply that formula to a new era.

In this sense, their presence in Monterey does not work only as a presentation of design. It also serves to show how BMW understands the future of a brand that has historically occupied a very particular within the automotive world of luxury and high performance.

The Vision BMW ALPINA will be presented on Friday, 14 August at The Quail, where BMW ALPINA will offer a press conference at 11:25 in the morning.

BMW M3 celebrates 40 years and returns to its roots sports

The story will take a significant weight during the Monterey Car Week 2026. BMW will use the event to celebrate four decades of the BMW M3, a car that, from its appearance, it became one of the leaders of BMW M.

The celebration will begin on Thursday, August 13, during Legends of the Autobahn, where BMW will bring together different generations of the M3 to show the evolution of the model over 40 years.

Among the automobiles exposed will be copies which represent different stages of the history of the M3, from the legendary E30 M3 to the new BMW M3 CS with a manual transmission, corresponding to the model 2027.

The exhibition will take place in Pacific Grove Golf Links between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, with free entry.

But the anniversary will not be limited to a static display. The BMW M3 it also will return to the track during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, one of the encounters most important historic car competition in the united States.

At WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will meet four generations of the M3 competition, including copies as the E30 M3 DTM 1992, and the E92 M3 GT, 2011.

The presence of riders such as Mike Skeen, Bill Auberlen and Frank van Meel will strengthen the competitive nature of the celebration. In this scenario, the M3 will not be only the parts of the collection: return to the track to remember the role they played in the history of sport BMW.

The choice of Monterey to celebrate this anniversary is especially significant. The event brings together two of the facets that have accompanied the M3 for four decades: the car collection and the racing machine.

Kith for BMW prepares a new chapter

The relationship between BMW and Kith will also have a prominent space within the program. The Saturday night show, BMW will host a panel on the invitation with Ronnie Fieg, founder, CEO and creative director of Kith.

The meeting will serve to present the fourth chapter of the collaboration between the two brands, an association that has combined the culture automotive BMW with the contemporary aesthetics of the u.s. firm.

Although the collaboration began around products from fashion and lifestyle, with the passage of time has also built custom automobile. For 2026, BMW and Kith will explore that connection with a new collection of clothes and accessories, in addition to vehicles designed specifically for this collaboration.

The presentation will have a particular meaning within Monterey Car Week, where the car is constantly with other expressions of design, fashion, art and culture.

In this context, Kith for BMW represents a different way of talking about the car. Not from the performance and the technical specifications, but from the identity, the design and the way in which certain generations are related to the brands.

BMW closed Monterey with two visions of the future

The program BMW Monterey Car Week 2026 will come to its conclusion on Sunday the 16th of August in commemoration of the 75th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

On the Concept Lawn, BMW presented once again both the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse as the Vision BMW ALPINA. The joint presence of both prototypes will be able to observe two different paths into the future strategy of BMW.

On the one hand, the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse represents a vision of the high electrical performance, supported by an architecture of four engines and advanced control systems. On the other, the Vision BMW ALPINA poses how can evolve the luxury, craftsmanship and comfort without losing personality that has defined ALPINA.

Together, the two concepts summary good part of the message that BMW wants to bring to Monterey: the brand's future will not be defined by a single formula.

The electrification will have an increasingly important role in the performance, while the design and the craft will continue to be essential elements to build cars capable of occupying a special place in the premium segment.

The closure at Pebble Beach will take place from 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 pm, at The Lodge at Pebble Beach.

Monterey as a meeting point between past and future

The presence of BMWS at Monterey Car Week 2026 has a particularly interesting: the brand is not using the event only to introduce new features.

The program brings together, on one stage, four decades of the BMW M3, historic car racing, two prototypes that anticipate the future of BMW M and ALPINA, and collaboration, contemporary with a fashion brand as Kith.

The strategy allows you to build a story in which past, present, and future coexist. The M3 remember where it comes from BMW M and the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse shows where you can go to the high electrical performance; the Vision BMW ALPINA explores a new interpretation of luxury and Kith demonstrates how the identity of BMW can transcend the car.

For BMW, Monterey Car Week 2026 will be so much more than a week of exhibitions. It will be an opportunity to demonstrate that technological change does not necessarily leave what he has built the personality of the brand for decades.

Among the classics of competition, athletic, contemporary, and prototypes-electric, BMW will bring to California one of their samples more complete which means currently the high-performance, luxury and design. And, above all, it will leave a pretty look clear to the cars that will define the next stage of its history.
