BMW M4 GT3 EVO: WRT to the conquest of the title by teams in the Sprint Cup

Barcelona. The Team WRT closed the season in the Sprint Cup in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS with a new team championship, thanks to the performance of your BMW M4 GT3 EVO in the two races held in Barcelona.

The outcome represents the fourth title won by WRT during the season 2026 within the european championships, after winning also the classifications of Sprint, Endurance and Silver Cup combined. The belgian team completed in addition to the weekend with victory in the Pitstop Challenge.

A comeback under the rain in Barcelona

The activity of the Saturday started with a classification of complicated equipment for BMW. The first race also gave room for error due to the heavy rain that hit the circuit of Barcelona and led to numerous tops and accidents.

In these conditions, the BMW M4 GT3 EVO number 77 KPX Motorsport starred in one of the main comebacks of the day. The race had to be stopped with a red flag due to the track conditions.

WRT ensures the championship with another comeback

In addition to the title won by WRT, other teams competing with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO had outstanding performances in the different categories.

In the Silver Cup, Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro finished seventh in its category on the Saturday with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO number 30 of WRT. On Sunday, an accident of Lismont during the first few laps, put an end to their participation.

In the Bronze Cup, Augusto Farfus returned to share the BMW M4 GT3 EVO number 991 of Paradine Competition with Darren Leung. The pair managed to finish fourth in its class in both races of Barcelona.

With the championship in the Sprint Cup that is already defined, the GT World Challenge Europe will still have one last appointment in 2026. The season will conclude on October 17, in Portimão, Portugal, with the endurance race that will put an end to the european calendar.

For WRT, the goal will be to close the year with another outstanding result after a season in which their BMW M4 GT3 EVO returned to be among the protagonists of the championship.
